Lino Chuang, PT, the Founder and President of Excellent Choice Physical Therapy, has been practicing as a physical therapist for close to twenty years in the New York metropolitan area. He has gained the trust of hundreds of referring physicians and thousands of patients as an expert and a healer. Born and raised in the Philippines to proud parents - Doctors Chuang Chong Chian and Evelyn Ong Chuang who themselves are very dedicated, warm and caring clinicians, Lino earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Therapy from the University of the Philippines in 1986. He then came to New York City in August 1986 to further pursue his career. He became a licensed physical therapist on Sept 14, 1987 and since then has had vast experiences in nursing home, hospital, home care and private practice settings. Along the way, he met his very lovely and supportive wife - Josephine in 1987 and married her in December of 1989 and currently with 2 wonderful children. Later on Lino, Josephine and 2 other friends started their own outpatient physical therapy practice in 1991 which at that time was called Excellence Physical Therapy, PC. On January 2002, Lino and Josephine (my true partner) went on their own and opened up 2 physical therapy outpatient practices in Queens and Long Island and renamed it Excellent Choice Physical Therapy , PC. Lino is a proud member of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA).

Josephine Uy-Chuang is the Vice President/Controller of Excellent Choice PT, P.C. She is also the wife of the owner/president - Lino Chuang, PT. They have been blessed with 2 beautiful children. She is the biggest fan of her husband. She strongly believes that Lino has it all in terms of patient care and rapport. She graduated Cum Laude from Baruch College in New York City with a bachelor's degree in Business Administration and acquired a membership in the Golden Key Honor Society with in college. She has over 20 years of experience in the medical field doing different facets of administrative work such as accounting, insurance billing/collection, payroll and human resources responsibilities. She landed her first job at eh Hospital for Joint Disease Orthopedic Institute and moved her way up the corporate ladder with the support of friends and colleagues from this facility. Later on she was given a supervisory position at the Mount Sinai Hospital in the Billing/collection department. With her experience from these different hospitals, she is now able to hold one of the most complicated tasks of Excellent Choice Physical Therapy, P.C.

 
Brett Logue, PT joined the Excellent Choice PT family in July, 2005.  He is currently serving as the Vice President of Operations (VPO)  for Excellent Choice PT.  After graduating from Touro College Physical Therapy  Program in 1997, he started his career at Mount Sinai Medical Center in Manhattan and worked his way up to being named the manager of the prestigious Sports Therapy Center in midtown Manhattan.  He then moved back to his hometown of Huntington with his wife and daughter and decided to work closer to home.  After joining a private orthopedic practice on the south shore of Long Island as the managing therapist, Brett decided that he wanted to work even closer to home.  He has taken many continuing education courses over the years and is particularly interested in manual therapy techniques and biomechanical analysis of motion.

Dana is our friendly part-time Receptionist for the front desk in Huntington.  Her primary role is overseeing all patients at check-in and can basically help anyone who walks into Excellent Choice and feels unsure about their journey. Dana validates insurance coverage for physical therapy visits, as well as authorizations for Workers Comp, No-Fault, and Medicare. She is also responsible for scheduling appointments, forwarding PT reports to the patient's doctor, updating prescriptions and general questions.  Dana holds a B.S. degree in Business Management from C.W. Post College and works M-W-F from 8:30am -1:30pm.  She is married and has two boys..

Deborah Whitfield is the full-time Office Assistant of our Huntington Office. Her duties include greeting patients, answering questions regarding their insurances, verifying individual patient's insurance coverage, getting authorizations from insurance companies, and finally setting up appointments for all our patients. She also helps in the follow-ups of insurance bills. She is married with 3 beautiful children and blessed with grandchildren. She is well-loved by her colleagues and by our patients.

 

Florence Chuang is the Accounts Manager. For almost ten years she has learned to deal with different insurance companies and/or different types of medical benefits. Currently she is responsible for the submission of claims and oversees the collection of payments. She knows her way around the computer, which helps her with the company's monthly stats (billing and collection).

 

Patty Sukul has over 20 years of working experience in Accounting, Bookkeeping, Administrative Assistant and Medical Billing. She is a detail oriented person with strong customer service skills. Her working experience include but not limited to merchant/investment banking accounts and medical accounting experience with H.H.C. She loves to work an her hobbies are music, singing, movies and dancing. She is married and mother of three. She is proud to be a team member of Excellent Choice Physical Therapy.

Reginald Tiu, PT, CSCS, is the most senior staff physical therapist at the Excellent Choice Physical Therapy, Queens Office having several years of experience that reflects on his wide range of treatment techniques, from modalities, therapeutic exercises to manual therapy techniques. He has been practicing as a Physical Therapist since 1999 when he graduated with an average comparable to those at the top of his class. He became a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist in 2004 as recognition of his in-depth knowledge of exercises. He has worked in hospital settings in their inpatient and outpatient departments. He has treated numerous patients with orthopedic, neurological and cardiac conditions from pediatric to geriatric population. He has also evaluated and treated professional and amateur athletes with various sports injuries and has served as a clinical supervisor guiding and training physical therapy interns. His pleasing personality, good work ethics and desire to learn makes him a good physical therapist and endears him to the patients.

Sylvia Colon is the receptionist at Excellent Choice PT, P.C. She attended Mabel Dean Bacon VHS and was granted a Certificate in Dental Assistant, but has been working in the field of healthcare for five years handling the front desk. She has good interpersonal skills. She has a good relationship with her coworkers, medical providers and especially the patients. She is fluent in English and Spanish. She is also familiar with different types of medical insurances and deals with the collection of payments for the various insurance companies.
Stephanie DeMonte debuted as a Physical Therapist Aide at Excellent Choice PT, P.C. in December 2006, working in our Huntington office. She works Monday, Wednesday and Friday, almost the entire day! She graduated from the University at Buffalo with a degree concentrated in Exercise Physiology. Her dream is to become a physician of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation and she has been volunteering with the American Heart Association – “Go Red” since 2004. Stephanie is excited to be working in her community of Huntington and likes to meet new and different people. She does an excellent job at keeping up the flow of patients into and out of the office.

Roger Clark Jr., is a 23 year old student working part time as a Physical Therapist Aide at the Queens Office. He is currently taking classes to become a Physical Therapist Assistant at LaGuardia Community College after which he plans to continue studying and become a licensed Physical Therapist someday. He worked as a Physical Therapist Aide for 2 years at an Orthopedic Facility in Maryland giving him a good idea of what the Physical Therapy profession is about.
